Two students from the Bio-Ontology Research Group presented their research at the recently concluded KAUST Research Conference on Big Data Analyses in Evolutionary Biology, held on December 4-6.

Ph.D. student Maxat Kulmanov gave his presentation, "DeepGo: Predicting Protein Functions from Sequence and Interactions Using a Deep Ontology-Aware Classifier", on December 4.

Master's student Sarah Alghmadi's topic was on "Ontology Design Patterns for Combining Pathology and Anatomy: Application to Study Aging and Longevity in Inbred Mouse Strains". Her talk, given on December 6, was part of the Spotlight on Young Talent session of the conference.
